Dr. Sébastien Simoens

Sébastien Simoens graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST) Paris in 1998 and received the PhD degree from the Signal

Theory and Communications Department of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona in July 2009. From 1998 until 2008 he worked at

Motorola Labs Paris where he conducted research and standardization activities on signal processing for broadband wireless communications. He was involved in several European projects including IST-FIREWORKS and ICT-ROCKET as technical manager as well as in IEEE 802.11n standardization process. From Nov. 2008 to Nov 2011, he worked with Thales Avionics (Valence, France) where he conducted studies on MEMS inertial sensors as well as inertial and hybrid GPS/Inertial navigation systems. Since Nov. 2011, he has been working as Product Architect with Alstom Transport (Villeurbanne, France), first on Train-to-Trackside Wireless modems, and currently on balise antenna products for mainline and urban markets.
