13:15 - 13:45 — Invited Talk: Professional integration into the industrial cycle

Speaker: Dr. Vania Conan, Research Director, Thales Communications

Short bio: Dr. Vania Conan is a senior research expert in networking and communications at Thales Communications & Security, in Gennevilliers, France. He received an Engineering Degree (1990) and Ph.D. in Computer Science (1996) from Mines ParisTech, France, and an HDR degree in Networking from Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris (2012). For the past fifteen years he has been involved in ICT research, participating in collaborative projects at national and European levels. He has published over 60 international conference and journal papers and filed several patents in networking technologies. He is presently head of the networking laboratory in the Advanced Studies department. His current research topics include mobile network protocol and distributed software based network design.

Speaker: Mr. Sylvain Brissot, Startup Coach, Pulsalys

Short bio: Mr. Sylvain Brissot is a start-up expert specializing in digital technologies at Pulsalys. He was the former marketing director and board member of the start-up, a school that allows students to learn music with famous artists. He is also shareholder on one of the biggest crowdfunding platform in Europe, Wiseed. Previously, he worked as a senior manager in an international consulting firm for 10 years. He is experienced in strategic coaching and company development from start-ups to major groups, and team management in a decided and dynamic manner in order to achieve the objectives and follow up the performance.

16:45 - 17:15 — Invited Talk: Industry experience from CITI alumni

Speaker: Dr. Nicolas Brunie, Software Engineer, Kalray

Short bio: Dr. Nicolas Brunie got his Master Degree in 2010 from ENS de Lyon and PhD in computer science from ENS de Lyon in 2014, with Florent de Dinechin (Arenaire/Aric in LIP, then Socrates in Citi Lab) on "Contributions to computer arithmetic in embedded systems". At Kalray since september 2010, he has implemented the support of floating-point arithmetic for Kalray's K1 processor. His work covers both hardware (FPU) and software (math libraries) aspect of floating-point. He is also working on cryptography (HW acceleration), compilation (LLVM), and architecture.
